Meet me in the hotel room

| |
As requested by people (cough LISA cough AIMI) here is a brief description of our little trip to Singapore over the weekend.

Did we fly there? No. Did we take the bus? No. Did we drive? No. WE TOOK A TRAIN! I'm still trying to work out whether RM74 for a 7 hour ride was worth it, but it was definitely an experience. We tried getting the first class tickets - to get our own rooms! - but only second class tickets were left which are the berth tickets, and all the lower bunks were full, so we settled for the upper bunks.

Now, I thought I've grown out of the "ewwwwwww public toilets" phase because I assumed I had good tolerance for public toilets now, but trust me, you don't know what "public" is until you've used the KTM toilets. And I had to. Twice.

Once we arrived in Singapore, we dumped our luggage in the hotel and dragged ourselves to Orchard Rd for breakfast and to get a kickstart in shopping. :p

Later that night, we headed to the much-talked-about Clarke Quaye where we explored Singapore's nightlife. We first made the boys' dreams come true by having dinner at Hooters!

And then the real nightlife began, if you know what I mean. Hahahaha.

And then when we realised how much we spent on our first day, we decided to go low-key with our lunch on Sunday with a mamak! Haha. :)

And then spent our sunny Sunday conquering the malls along Orchard Rd, unleashing our inner shopaholics. And no, I am not just referring to myself and Ezmira. :P

So we spent our last night in Arab Street looking for cheap Arabian food and good ol shishaaaaaa!

We also realised how empty the streets were in Singapore on a Sunday night, so we attempted jumping photos in the middle of the road.

Haha.

So here's just a little sneak-a-peek at the photos I took over the weekend. While some of them may look lackluster, that description by far does not depict our trip accurately. And I also only edited a few. From all our 7-eleven stops, the sex toy shops (oh come on, we are all grown-ups here, aren't we?) all the food we ate, all the shops we had to consistantly drag Ezmira (and sometimes, the boys!) out of, trying on way-too-pretty-and-expensive dresses just for the fun (and because Singaporean salespeople have more retail etiquette, experience and friendliness), multiplying every price-tag with 2.4 and then making the "should I get it?" decision, making the boys wait while Ezmira and I went crazy in shops, and then walking bloody marathons from hotel -> mall -> hotel -> mall, the 7 hour long train rides, "Your mom/Mak kau/insert other variant here" jokes, making fun of nearly everything and everyone in our way -

I think I can say for everyone that it was a well-deserved trip. Tiring, money-raping, but oh the fun we had! We already have a collection of stories, so just look out for the Facebook album when I'm actually bothered to.

My next post, hopefully:

The baking classes I attended over the past 2 days, BMAT and the podiatrist appointment!

hahaha :) so nice to hear from you. and yay, you know what a podiatrist is! do you know, there are only 2 in malaysia? haha and the one i went to see today is a south african. i love his accent!

but anyway, turns out i have flat feet and that my right leg is shorter than my left by about 8 mm. yes, he quoted those exact figures. he took a video of me walking and pointed it out on replay. never knew. :p

he's pretty dreamy, but, yes, i may be adding funny looking pads to my shoes if the x-ray proves his theory is correct!

my mom's all about complementary medicine now, it's kind of funny. and refreshing. and judging by the length of this comment, it's as if i'm writing an email. which i shall, soon. :p

btw, i'll bring you out to stuff ourselves silly with garlic cheese naan once youre back :)
